Key Stage 4 (KS4)

Yr 10     SCIENCE

 Examination Board: WJEC  (www.wjec.co.uk)

Specification : GCSE Science Double award  UNIT 1,2,3

Pupils study3 units of work:

Biology       1

Chemistry  1

Physics        1

These units will be assessed in 1hour 15mins. Examination papers containing short structured questions, data response and extended writing questions in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Each paper is worth 15% of the marks available for the total qualification.

There are two tiers of paper:

 Higher Tier       - grades A*-D

 Foundation Tier – grades C –G

Each examination will contain some questions set in a practical context. There will be no practical examination this year. The qualification certificate will be awarded in the Summer 2018 when the course finishes.
