A Level Results Press Release 2025

Congratulations to all pupils at Bedwas High School who achieved success in their A level results today!

Each and every student should be praised for their hard work and resilience throughout the exam period. There have been some excellent performances from many students in Year 12 and 13 and across many subjects.

I would like to congratulate each of our students who have achieved success with their A level results. Particular mention must be given to Isabella Francis, Lara Hallam, Chrissy Kidley, Izi Lang, Skye Preston, Caitlin Reid, Joe Williams and Taylor Young.

There were also some pleasing AS results that were achieved by our Year 12 students, who we congratulate and look forward to seeing these pupils return to school on Wednesday the 3rd of September to continue with their A level courses.

We are very proud of the way in which every student applied themselves to their studies, showing dedication and perseverance amongst many other attributes; which will hold them in good stead in the years to come.

Most important is that all students who wished to go to university have successfully secured a place, with nearly all students obtaining a place at their first-choice university, or following the career path that they wished to: this is what is most important. Therefore, it gives us all great pride to see that the students’ hard work over their A level courses and beyond has been recognised.

As Headteacher, I firmly believe that each student’s success is the result of working in partnership with each family over a number of years. As always, the commitment from all students, staff and the support of each family is greatly appreciated. Chair of Governors, Mrs Jane Miller, expressed her gratitude for the hard work of all that has led to some very good achievements this year. She congratulates all of the students on their results in addition to thanking staff for their continued hard work and support which ensures Bedwas High School continues to provide a successful Sixth Form provision.

We are very proud of all our students, and now is the time to look forward and make the very best of the opportunities that lie ahead. We thank those students who are now leaving us for their contribution to our school and wish them well as they move on to new challenges beyond Bedwas High. We look forward to hearing of their continued success in their future careers/university courses.

GCSE Results Press Release 2025

Congratulations to all pupils receiving their GCSE Results today!

Each and every student should be praised for their hard work and resilience throughout the exam period. We have high expectations for all our pupils and it is hugely to their credit that so many students have achieved some excellent results in Year 11 and 10, and across many subjects.

Five students gained at least 10 A* and A grades, which is a wonderful achievement. Our congratulations go to these students who are: Alban Jeffery, Aneira Jones, Tom Marshall, Billie Wherlock and Grace Williams. Three of these students achieved all As and A*s in all their courses - a phenomenal accomplishment!

In addition, Harry Good, Heilyn Johnson, Esme Broughall, Matthew Powell, Hope Stevens, Rufus Williams, Thomas Lukins, Kate Perkins, Sophie Grist, Sophie Tidy, Lloyd Brunton, Lauren Fletcher, Tilly Furlong, Robyn Hancock and Macie Williams all achieved a significant number of excellent grades, including many A* and A’s. We should also mention James Bunney, Cerys Barnicoat, Keira Bates, Preston Beacham, Joseph Bellamy, George Curtis-Thomas, Ozzy Grace-Hall, Sam Hallam, Logan Johnson, Joseph Kulisa, Jack Lang, Cadence Lawrence-Price, Evan Oliver, Liam Phillips, Luke Price, Talon Shirley, Alfie Tasker and Halle-Marie Wellington amongst many others who also achieved very good results. Be very proud of yourselves! All these pupils, and many others, should now return to our sixth form, given how they have done in our school.

We are also very happy with the positive outcomes achieved by our students in Year 10 who have completed GCSEs. They now have a very firm foundation from which to start Year 11 and the confidence to know they are capable of achieving at this more challenging level.

For pupils to achieve such pleasing results, it is a very positive reflection on their commitment and the very good teaching they are receiving from staff. The support of each family is essential and as always it is very much appreciated. Chair of Governors, Mrs Jane Miller, would like to thank all pupils and staff for their effort and hard work and congratulate everyone on gaining their GCSE qualifications.

These results prove what talented pupils and dedicated staff we have at Bedwas High and we very much look forward to welcoming such well-qualified and committed pupils back to our Sixth Form. The school year commences for the new Year 12 students on Thursday 4th September, and for all other students on Wednesday 3rd September.
